Knitting burns calories

Working away on the belt cardi. I am loving the way the fabric on this is knitting up.
Knitting, knitting, knitting... On a cardi I will never wear. I am not sure how I feel about this. It is a beautiful, extremely well written pattern with more shaping than any I have ever done. And that is exactly why I won't be able to wear it. I myself have an awful lot of shaping. Not the kind that looks good in a lovely shaped cardi with a belt. I am round in all the wrong places, and will look about 6 months along in this in my belly, and 7 in each hip. But I am knitting on. Maybe I will knit super fast and it will burn many calories, making me thin by the time I finish. That is my plan.

  1. Thank you for the cashmere porn. I love this cardi so much, and I am tempted to knit one of my very own, but I am resisting because I fear it will emphasis my stomach in all the wrong ways. I look about five months pregnant with twins on a good day. :( Having all these babies is hard on a body in ways my 18 year old self would never have imagined.

  2. How about if you drop the belt? I have friends with larger figures and they look beautiful in a cardi with shaping. I fund shaping flatters whereas the more boxy style can make us all look larger.
I've become a fan of top-down knitting as I can try it on as I go and change any shaping as needed to fit me to allow it to skim with more ease over my stomach if need be.
